Have an album you would love to hold on vinyl? With community-funded releases, your listeners can support it before production begins. Their contributions fund the release and, if the campaign succeeds, they receive the record. This lets you gauge demand in advance without having to raise the full manufacturing budget on your own.
We created this service to help more independent artists and smaller labels bring their music to vinyl. You bring the music, its story and your connection with your audience; we bring our pressing experience and handle the practical side. Together we plan the campaign and guide the release from fundraising to finished records. If the target is not reached by the deadline, supporters receive their contributions back.
We organise, press and deliver.
Hanaton organises the campaign, handles payments and invoicing, guides material preparation, manufactures the record and sends the supporter copies. There is no joining fee. For a successful project, 10% of the total contributions covers project administration; manufacturing costs are also deducted. The remainder belongs to the publisher, in records or money as agreed.
What you bring
Prepare the audio and artwork, obtain the rights holders’ approval and plan the campaign with us. The artist or label remains the publisher and is responsible for copyright clearances and royalties. After success, the required manufacturing permission must be obtained before production.
The campaign, step by step
We agree the target, deadline, minimum contribution and production specification. The campaign runs publicly; after a successful close, materials and permissions are finalised and three test pressings are provided. Following approval, production and delivery follow. If the campaign does not reach its goal, supporters are refunded and no normal project fee is payable by the publisher. Withdrawal by the publisher after launch has separate cost consequences set out in the campaign terms.
